National Clinical Director Consortium Announces Strategic Merger with the Society of Cannabis Clinicians to Advance Clinical Excellence in Medical Cannabis Care
Denver, Colorado, March 20, 2026: The National Clinical Director Consortium (NCDC), a collaborative network of healthcare professionals supporting medical cannabis patients through dispensary-based care, today announced a strategic merger with the Society of Cannabis Clinicians (SCC), a leading nonprofit dedicated to advancing evidence-based cannabis medicine education and clinical practice.
This merger unites two mission-driven organizations committed to improving patient outcomes through education, collaboration, and clinical integrity. Under the new structure, NCDC will operate as a formal committee within SCC, continuing its specialized focus on supporting clinicians, including nurses, pharmacists, and physicians, who work directly with medical cannabis patients in dispensary and clinical settings.
“This is a powerful step forward for our community,” said Laura Barrett, Founder of the National Clinical Director Consortium. “By joining forces with SCC, we are expanding our reach and strengthening our ability to provide high-quality, evidence-informed education while preserving the collaborative spirit that defines our work.”
Expanding Access to Education and Clinical Support
Through this merger, members will gain access to SCC’s robust educational ecosystem and national network of clinicians. The NCDC committee will continue to host its monthly meetings, offering interdisciplinary collaboration and case-based discussion for clinicians working in medical cannabis care.
New SCC members will receive:
- A complimentary 5-Course Basics Package
- The exclusive “Rooted in Evidence” research booklet
- (Combined value exceeding $300, delivered in the membership welcome email)
These resources are designed to support clinicians in delivering safe, ethical, and effective cannabis-based care grounded in current research.
Strengthening a Unified Voice in Medical Cannabis
The integration of NCDC into SCC reflects a shared commitment to elevating standards in medical cannabis practice and advocating for patient-centered care. Together, the organizations aim to expand professional education, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and support clinicians navigating the evolving landscape of cannabis medicine.
“This collaboration allows us to better serve clinicians across disciplines while reinforcing the importance of evidence-based practice in cannabis care,” said Genester Wilson-King, MD FACOG, SCC President. “We are honored to welcome the National Clinical Director Consortium into our organization.”
