DESCRIPTION:9-10am PST / 11am-12pm CST / 12-1pm EST / 5-6pm UK \nThe SCC Journal Club meets monthly the first Friday of every month. Presentations will focus on a variety of articles and perspectives related to cannabis medicine\, including but not limited to clinically-relevant articles and research methodology-focused papers. \nOn January 8th\, Dustin Sulak\, DO will present a paper he recently co-authored A Survey on the Effect That Medical Cannabis Has on Prescription Opioid Medication Usage for the Treatment of Chronic Pain at Three Medical Cannabis Practice Sites as well as another paper of interest Consensus-Based Recommendations for Titrating Cannabinoids and Tapering Opioids for Chronic Pain Control. Read more about Dr. Sulak More in the bio below. \nWant to sign up to present an article? His clinical practice focuses on treating refractory conditions in adults and children. Dr. Sulak received undergraduate degrees in nutrition science and biology from Indiana University\, a doctorate of osteopathy from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine\, and completed an osteopathic rotating internship at Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Sulak is the founder of Integr8 Health\, a medical practice in Maine providing specialty cannabis and integrative care to thousands of patients\, and Healer.com\, a medical cannabis education resource. He is a passionate teacher of clinicians\, patients\, and industry professionals\, and sits on the board of directors of two nonprofits focused on cannabis education\, The Society of Cannabis Clinicians and Patients Out of Time.
